Balmoral Añejo XO

We’ll be doing some features from time to time on some cigars that we carry here in the shop. It won’t be an in-depth review or anything, but consider this an introduction to something new or something that will be making its way into the shop. Every once in a while, we’ll bring back and oldie but a goodie. Basically, we’d like you to shake hands with a cigar and get to know it a bit. Kind of like speed dating without the awkwardness.

That said, as we feature a cigar here in the blog, you can expect a deal on it in the shop. So stop by and mention the post and we’ll give you the “thanks for keeping up on the blog” hookup. We’ll give 10% off of our featured cigar to anyone that mentions the blog (yes, you have to mention it to us… we can’t go throwing discounts around all willy-nilly).

First up in the world of features:

Balmoral Añejo XO

Wrapper: Brazilian Sungrown Arapiraca
Binder: Dominican Olor
Filler: Dominican Republic/Nicaragua

You likely remember the Añejo 18 from Balmoral. If you aren’t familiar…  I’m sorry. It is a great stick that was well received across the board. The Arapiraca wrapper was aged 18 years for Balmoral’s 2014 release. This year, they are coming back with the Añejo XO. Consider it a follow-up (don’t call it a comeback) to the work they started in 2014. That wrapper from the 2014 release was incredibly limited and could only be released in that short run. The XO picks up right where the 18 left off.

The XO was explained as having “exceptionally old tobaccos.” We’re never told how long “exceptionally old tobaccos” are aged, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say. The stick has a smooth delivery of it’s woody, cacao filled, sweetness. With the Petit Robusto and the Rothschild Massivo coming in at $8.50 and $9.90 respectively, they are a great pickup for under $10.

That’s that. See how simple that was? Stop by and check one out and don’t forget to mention the feature so you can get your 10% off.

As always, we’d love it if you would click the link on the top of the page to share the blog on Facebook or Twitter. Get your cigar smoking friends in on the action. Thanks a ton!

Until next time…

Cheers and long ashes!!
